NEW PROJECT

For those of you that have been to a Providentials concert or have listened to a Providentials CD, we have a question for you. The Providentials are currently gathering songs for a new album. In the past, we have tried to mix the songs with about half new songs and half old standards including at least one hymn. We also try to include at least one a cappella arrangement. Our question to you is what do you think we should include on the new CD. More new songs, more old songs, more hymns, more a cappella or what mix do you think you would like best?

I trust your judgment on song selection and getting the right blend of music but since you asked I will tell.

I really like the up beat songs that really get you up and going!!! I like it when the verses are split up and everyone sings one line of it. A good example of this would be "Its Gonna Rain". It is up beat and a great message and it gets all of the members involved in the song with individual parts.

I also like to hear a lot of high tenor notes and low bass notes to really get that wow factor in the song. 3 or 4 good upbeat songs would be a great on the new album.

Next I would keep going with the acapella songs like you have on past ablums. They are great and put a little old school in the album.

You also have to have at least one slow old school hymn that will keep with tradition

Lastly I would add at least 2 if not 3 providentials originals. Songs written by members of the group or songs picked by the members of the group that no one else has ever done. They are always great and show Gods spirit in your life and songs more.

I hope this helps. I am sure whatever songs you do they will be great and will praise the Lord.

I personally love the songs you all have chosen in the past. Some are more special to me than others are, but that is always the way it is with all projects. I love the ballards as well as ones like Show Me Your Face, and Somebody Touched me, as well as When I wake to sleep No more. To me you cant have too many of these but then you can only put so many on a project.
Will you ever do a Best of The Providentials Project anytime in the future as well as a Christmas Project?

Hey Guys,
I enjoyed the taping the other night very much. A new CD- doesn't seem like it's time again but it's here- I like the older songs- the other night you all did "Sweet Sweet Spirit" that was good- Personally I'd like to hear MR. CO sing "The Longer I Serve Him, The Sweeter He Grows" I think that would really fit his journey- I'd like to hear you guys visit the "Stamps- Baxter Era" with a song like "When Morning Sweeps The Eastern Sky" or something like that- and of course Lane really needs a solo song- but I haven't thought of it yet- I'll get back to you- Tim- well anything Tim sings is simply amazing- I think you guys could pull off anything "Statesmen" maybe like- O What A Time- Mr. Joe- "Sheltered In The Arms Of God" is a really great song- Not that Dottie has a shortage of people singing her songs but I could just hear ya'll doing that- anything older- kind of standard to quartets would be well accepted- the new stuff is good also- a cappella- is also- have you ever considered something Patriotic- like "I Pledge My Allegiance" it's powerful- anyway sounds like I have a lot of ideas- God Bless You All-

Can't wait to see you again- Don't forget that little opening act.HaHa

Enjoyed your singing at Bedico Baptist Church for a second time around. We actually had started planning a vacation for that weekend (which meant we wouldnt be at our home church on Sunday) but when we found out you guys would be there, we stopped all plans. You are a joy to watch and hear. I now own all your CDs and listen to them often. (Like when I do the endless task of cleaning house!) We cant wait to see you guys again! God has Blessed you all, and Blesses everyone who has the opportunity to hear you all sing.
